BEACON (Builders Employment & Availability Connection Online Network) is an online service owned and operated by Terry Summers, a sole proprietor. These Terms of Service constitute an agreement between you and Terry Summers, doing business through the BEACON online service. References to "BEACON," "we," "us," or "our" refer to the BEACON service operated by Terry Summers.
By creating an account or using BEACON, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the platform. BEACON reserves the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
BEACON (Builders Employment & Availability Connection Online Network) is a platform that connects contractors, homeowners, and property owners with tradespeople and subcontractors who are available to work. BEACON facilitates introductions between users. BEACON is not a party to any agreement, contract, or working relationship formed between users.
BEACON is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. BEACON does not guarantee:
BEACON has no liability or legal jurisdiction in any interaction during or after connections have been made through the platform. Users are solely responsible for verifying licenses, insurance, qualifications, and conducting background checks.
Free trial. New eligible users receive a 30-day free trial that does not require a credit card. The trial grants full marketplace access for 30 days. One trial per account: if you have ever received a BEACON trial or paid membership, you are not eligible for another trial. Administrators receive free membership and are not charged.
Onboarding incentive. Eligible tradespeople who complete all four onboarding steps (profile, trades, availability, and notification preferences) and have never previously paid for a BEACON membership earn a one-time discount coupon applied to their first paid membership invoice.
Subscription features and pricing may change. Existing subscribers will be notified of material changes.
BEACON reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent or harmful activity.
Cancellation. You may cancel your membership at any time through the BEACON Membership & Billing page. Cancelling a membership stops future renewal. For monthly memberships, you normally retain paid access through the end of the current billing period.
Restrictions after cancellation is scheduled. After you schedule a cancellation, BEACON may restrict the creation, acceptance, booking, or scheduling of marketplace activity (including work requests, availability, and bookings) that would occur after your paid-through date. You may continue to use eligible current-period functionality through your paid-through date, but you cannot commit to work occurring after it.
Expiration. When your paid-through date expires, paid marketplace functionality ends unless you reactivate or purchase another membership. Cancellation does not delete your BEACON account or profile — your account, profile, and history are preserved, and you may still log in to view your information and restart your membership at any time.
Reactivation. If you have scheduled a cancellation and are still within your paid period, you may reactivate your membership at any time before the paid-through date to restore normal renewal and remove future-date restrictions. If your subscription has fully ended, you may restart by choosing a currently available membership plan.
Billing portal. You may update your payment method or billing details through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from the Membership & Billing page.
Refunds. No prorated refund or credit is normally provided for unused portions of the current billing period, except where required by applicable law. Subscription fees already paid are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
BEACON may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active users. Continued use of the platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
For information about how BEACON handles your mobile information and SMS consent data, see the BEACON Privacy Policy.
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of BEACON shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.
Questions about these Terms of Service may be directed to BEACON support through the in-app Help/Support page or by emailing buildingsbeacon@gmail.com.
